Gear down: Check.
Gear locked: Negative.
Head between legs: Check.
Kiss ass goodbye: Check.
Actually, exceptional landing considering and speaks volumes as to the quality design of the struts which allowed that pilot to land without foam, only the parachute, and make it look routine.

The pilot risked his life and the lives of his crew to save an aircraft worth millions, a courageous act for sure.
It reminds me of the old saying, "There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but few Old bold pilots!
Hats off to our folks in uniform.

I presume this is the landing from the earlier takeoff vid. A comment on the vid at Carswell wondered why they didn't land there. 1) The runway at Edwards is much longer, if they could coast to a stop, and 2) it's more remote, so a crash wouldn't stir the populace like in Ft. Worth.

That looks more like Edwards AFB, not Andrews AFB

I wonder how the landing gear got so knackered. I grew up in southern Ca. and I don't miss that smog.

I was wondering he same thing. I looked again @ the :20 second mark... and then a comparison shot @ :30 second mark of the main mounts counterpart as it should look. looks like part of the landing gear is a torn away strut blowing in the breeze
