Two young men, sons of the woman filmed entering the house, axed themselves until the beautiful marble was swimming in blood, and the walls splattered in red. The woman is hysterical asking about the blood everywhere.

This was an attempted suicide, it is not known if the two men are still alive. Shortly before the self-axing, they had visited a government office in despair at not finding jobs and feeling unable to support themselves.

It resembles the self-burning of the Tunisian man which kicked off the Arab Spring. Although Islam forbids suicide, these bizarre acts are taking on cult status as they spread across the region. Yet none have had the impact of the first man who killed himself.
