  • It sure China's own "spy photos", they have placed the photographers in the bushes and then drag around the aircraft until they have got good pictures of it,
    just pure propaganda.

    • @celtbrewer Yup, word is China are going to start mass producing their own engines though, and break their dependence on Russian engines.

After maintaining US carriers' jet engines for years I'm sure they have learned a lot....

  • Nice reverse engineering job done by China.

  • Pirated.

Just like everything else they ever made...

  • Say what you will about cheap stuff made in China....but China is more of a threat than most people seem to think.

Look how much of a cluster fuck the US is having with the middle east. Then remember that China sells a shitload of their weapons to middle east countries (as well as other countries).

To believe China would get their asses handed to them is a pipe dream at this point. China has the personnel, equipment, and land mass to make for a very, very tough opponent.

China has no adequate logistics or bases to move their million man army and walmart weapons around the globe. They have no experience as well. They're a paper tiger with no stripes...

Oh, noone - me, at least not - is thinking that China is not a threat.

The most successful entrepeneurs, entertainers, ... are those who steral the most neatly and put it to use the most efficiently.

    • @Ben Cambone

      Who says that?

Also, even if it was so, it would not matter because of the sheer mass and firepower of their forces and other ressources.

    • @deathOfHeavyD "it would not matter because of the sheer mass and firepower of their forces and other ressources."

What are they gonna do, build a pontoon bridge of bodies and roll across the Pacific Ocean? China is one great big woof ticket just trying be get scalped...

    • @Ben Cambone

Well, they do have ships and planes and missiles, don't they?

And why do you think they lack adequate logistics to accomplish something? It's not like they are submitting public reports of their military efficiency.

  • That thing is an F-22 clone.

I bet it costs a tiny fraction of what the US spends on one of theirs.

  • Totally skipped the exhaust system, but whatever.

  • I personally think that Americans on this board shouldn't be afraid of J-20.

This thingy is far more dangerous for others, namely Asian countries like Japan, Philippines, Vietnam and so on.
I think their air forces and air defenses aren't really able to cope with this bird of pray.

  • The F-22 Raptor has a low heat signature due to its exhaust system. There's a difference between looking like an F-22 and being an F-22.

Yep correct! Did you see the episode of top gear filmed in china, they had made copies of some Audi's and some bmw's they looked similar but drove like a shity old tractor.......

    • @Ithinkthat1 I don't see any thrust vectoring system on the Chinese plane either.

    • @the welshman I just saw that episode the other day; I was wondering why I never see any Chinese cars, it's because they'd all be patent violations in Western countries. The real Chinese "cars," of course, was exactly like what I saw when I lived in Vietnam: motorized Tricycles with sheet-metal cabins an a wooden pickup-truck bed.

  • Why wouldn't you steal?

If somebody has already spent billions on the R&D already, there is absolutely no point in reinventing the wheel.

    • @Zhongnanhai

So basically you are saying stealing is okay?

Well, let's be honest, the "People's (LOL) Party" has been stealing from you since they came to power.

Everything your country has was stolen from someone else.

      You must be proud.

Its actually quite slick and smart for them to do so. The Russians and so many other civilizations have been doing this for centuries. Even the US did it after WW2 when we took information from Japanese and German scientists. But I understand your frustation. This has been an acknowledged problem for quite a long time, yet our govt has failed to make it a priority tilll recently. Almost, as if they wanted the Chinese to close the gap, so defence industries could ram us in t More..

      Posted Sep-16-2012 By

    • @AxisofEvil I don't consider it stealing, after WWII. After all, the scientists came and "voluntarily" helped us with our technology.

The Chinese infiltrate and take documents that are not for anyone but ourselves; and they have no problem doing it. It's their culture.

I have lived in Asia, and it is just a trash heap. It will never be comparable to the West because the morals are so different from what we experience in civilized nations.
