Truck Crashes Into Icy Pond
A semitrailer truck crashed into an icy pond before dawn Friday along Interstate 94 near Monticello, and the driver crawled out of the cab to safety, authorities said.
The eastbound truck, its trailer emblazoned with the Target name and logo, crossed the median and the westbound lanes before heading into the 7-foot-deep pond about 6:20 a.m., said State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske. The rig remained upright, submerged up to the bottom of the cab's side windows.
The driver was treated at Monticello Hospital for minor injuries and released, Roeske said.
