Look up Hoffman's hot dogs. Your accent indicates you are closer to the folks who make them than I. Very local (these dogs), and a resturaunt, Heids of Liverpool is the name, has made a great business by selling these dogs since the late teens, early 20s of the 1900s. They are that good!
I don't like hot dogs, generally, but for this one exception. And yes, a bit of char makes hoff's perfect, but they need far less than an hour+!! ;)
