Deck Gun Fired At Sea By Sailors Aboard USS Kearsarge - 25mm Mk38 Gun Fired At Moving Target 
Sailors assigned to the USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) conduct a live-fire
exercise while at sea, Feb. 5, 2013. The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit
(MEU) is aboard the Kearsarge conducting Composite Training Unit
Exercise, the final phase of a six-month pre-deployment training
program. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing
the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed,
sea-based quick reaction force. The MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task
Force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response and
limited contingency operations.

Or just install one of the new big-assed military lasers that could fry the bridge of an enemy ship.

@yourmaker74 - that's why when possible, the mk 38 mod 2 is a much better platform. Same gun, but stabilized remote operation with advanced optics. The Israeli version (it was developed in Israel) can also mount two missile tubes.

@rumplestiltskin Hearing protection does not totally block sound. They reduce the noise level by about 30dB.
