Number One? 20 Not So Good Categories That The United States Leads The World In

The Economic Collapse Blog – July 5, 2011

Is the United States “number one”? Many Americans take deep pride in their nation and the truth is that the U.S. has a lot going for it. The United States has the largest economy in the world. The United States also has the most powerful military on the entire planet. The United States has produced most of the greatest movies that the world has ever seen. But the United States is also number one in a lot of categories that are not go great. If we ever want to turn this country around, we need to be very honest with ourselves. We need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and realize that it is not a good thing that we are number one in divorce, drug addiction, debt, obesity, car thefts, murders and total crimes. We have become a slothful, greedy, decadent nation that is exhibiting signs of advanced decay. Until we understand jus

  • There are plenty of other countries that are far worse than the USA to live in, and they have worse crime figures too. Could it be that because of the efficiency of reporting crime that it makes America look worse than it actually is? I mean, is rape going to be reported to the local police in most of Africa & the Middle East? I think not, but because women in America are empowered they're not gonna take any crap, so they report the crime, knowing full well that it'll be investigated, and th More..

I think America is its own PR department. When you think about it, why is it almost always the USA that gets talked about like this? Possibly because it's one of the few countries that's worth talking about.

Comparing the USA with some 3rd world countries isn't very convincing.

Well, that was just a few examples I used there, using exaggeration to emphasise a point. The thing is, the USA is an incredibly diverse place & to call it a melting pot of different cultures would be an understatement. If anything, it underlines that multiculturalism just doesn't work. When you go to live in America, be an American.

  • about the pool story, I read about it on the news. Apparently the water was so murky you cannot see 1.5m under water. But there was a 9 year old boy who told 2 lifeguards a woman was struggling in the water. One lifeguard said he/she was on break. the other lifeguard said they will look for her which they never did. A couple of teenagers who went to the pool late at night noticed the body after it had bloated and floated to the top of the water!
maybe this information helps clear things up with More..

  • I like how the verb "reported" is used. I would bet all my money that if it were possible to force the truth out of people, that any Muslim dominated nation has a higher incidence per population rate of rape. Hell, most Americans would call Islamic executions 'murder'. And like a country like China will ever release true figures.

  • There's still a lot of good people in the USA. But immigration might be a big issue too as some immigrants tend to be criminally inclined.
