That's an old technique. Two hundred years ago, when there was plenty of old growth forest east of the Mississippi, a couple experienced woodsmen could spend a morning prepping a hundred trees or so with partial cuts. Then they would knock down one tree at the end, and clear several acres instantly. The falling process would last a couple minutes and you could hear it from miles away when all the trees were cracking at once.
Some were made into cabins. Others, of good quality, would get hauled More..

Indeed there are few old growth forests outside of the mountains or swampy areas unfit for farming. Ohio, where I live has a few left that are protected. I live near one and it is amazing how large the trees are. Its too bad our ancestors were not a bit more environmentally conscience as they could have left large swaths every half mile or so to tame down the winds and just the beauty of it.

Hahaha nice - I'm pretty sure he weakened the bases of all the trees in a row to make this happen otherwise the whole forest might just fall down.

@base64 I was thinking similar because a tree should be able to support one falling like that. But still awesome tho!!!

Also a renewable resource. I don't know what your house is made from but mine has alot of wood in it and it had to come from somewhere? Right.
These trees can be re-grown and re-harvested over many generations
