Disagree. We worked in both "no fire zones" in which you only fired when fired upon and in "free fire" zones where anything was free game. But we used discretion. Jeesiz! We couldn't kill some kid just because he wasn't behind the "tape".

The reality of the vietnam war isn't exclusive to the people who fought in it. Everyone knows what went on over there, it was well documented.
