I have no problem with China upgrading its weapons. It is a country with growing global relevance and logically it also is eager to back it up with military might.
So far there are only two points of concern.
A) the Chinese will to accept and tolerate suppressive regimes in order to get their ressources (e.g. Afghanistan and the cooperation with the taliban to get the country's ample mineral deposits)

Did some reading on this bird. Apparently it packs quite the radar.
The Chinese were very interested in an incident during the Serbian war where an outdated radar system was modified and used to spot an F-117 and shoot it down.
This thing might be able to see western stealth fighters as clearly as if they had flares attached. The sheer size of it suggests it's packed with electronics.

Yea apparently the radar can look for shadows cast in the background radiation from space..allowing it to be detected and circumventing the stealth technology completely....interesting concept, maybe you could be on to something there
