  • This chart is completely untruthful. The Washington Post's Fact Checker column gave it four Pinocchios, its worst rating for deceitfulness:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/a-bogus-chart-on-obama-and-the-debt-gets-a-new-lease-on-life/2011/09/28/gIQAx40Y6K_blog.html

Politifact also gave it a "pants on fire" rating.

The chart is not from the Treasury Department. It's just data gleaned from the Treasury Department and grossly manipulated.

    The chart confuses publ More..

  • Same bullshit again. This is not a measure of total debt. It says right there, plain as day for any idiot to see it, "Annualized GROWTH of federal spending." Get back to us when you figure out what that means, slow loris.

  • Its misleading becaused it's based on year-over-year spending increase by percentage, especially since the years are CHERRY-PICKED! For example, why is Clinton only counted from 94 on since he was in office for the entirety of 93? Also Obama from '10-13 is in comparison to the previous year which was OBAMA 2009, LMFAO!

Makes sense to liberals though! No wonder their party's symbol is the JACKASS!

    • @downhill2400 But how can Obama claim none of its his fault when that very budget for 2009 was passed by an overwhelming democrat majority with almost no republicans voting for it??... Including savior Obama's, Pelosi's, and Reid's vote.... It's all a bunch of spin and complete bullshit meant to fool people like you.. And sorry to say you fall for it... He has spent us to the edge of the cliff and if QEIII isn't a huge red flag than i don't know what is

The truth is that Obummer has spent more money that all of the presidents in modern history combined for absolutely nothing.

  • The Debt is comprised of what is spent and what is taken in in the form of taxes. Taxes are at an all time low - mostly due to the Bush Tax Cuts. so it doesn't matter how little we spend, any amount is too much if we don't pay enough in taxes.

Ditch the Bush Tax cuts and you will see a budget surplus as the economy stabilizes.

Obama, 6 trillion deficit and counting.

Bush, 4 trillion deficit in 8 years.

Now those are numbers to be worried about.

Keep on blaming Bush liberal sheep.

It's clever Republican strategists that have capitalized on the ignorance and intellectual laziness of their flock.

They've instilled a paranoia about the debt and some contrived notion that we're at some red line. We are not! We are unnecessarily holding back and causing massive human suffering for a generation that might have a permanently marred career.
      It's not like there's massive inflation (despite 3 QE's):

Well there we have it. I'm glad you've studied depression era economics and know more than most economists.

And when you say the government doesn't need to throw money around, I don't consider our citizens to be a bad investment. There are many people suffering that need help NOW. They can't wait or their careers might be permanently destroyed. Our country could use some infrastructure work. It's a no brainer but you don't have to argue with me. Just look at history and let sci More..

I have studied it and you are wrong when you say most economists believe the government did not slow down growth with their policies during the Great Depression.

Just look at history and see the generations of families on welfare because of well intentioned socialist ideals.

There is a balance and the Democrats always over do it on the social programs.

    • @lonewolf6972
Romney did. He claims he's going to give a 20% across the board tax cut. That means 20% less revenue to the treasury. If the lowest tax rates in 60 years haven't stimulated job growth, another 20% cut isn't going to help it. It'll just give 20% more money for him to hoard in his Swiss Bank account each year.

No, "anything" is not better, but I'm sure you have trouble understanding that with your tiny inbred brain. But go ahead and talk all the shit you want because if Romney wins I know I'll be proven right because it'll just be a repeat of the same Neo-con bullshit that fucked up the economy in the first place.

    • @picklethepug lower tax rates do not mean lower tax revenues. The resulting economic gains had by lowering taxes has historically increased federal revenue.

(CBS News) The National Debt has now increased more during President Obama's three years and two months in office than it did during 8 years of the George W. Bush presidency.

The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office.
