Due to having an explosive head system, it can miss by up to 50 metres and still kill its target. Missiles travelling at up 3 km per second.
It has been successfully used against Scud and replicated Shahab 3 missiles with 100% success even at last test date of Feb 11 2007.
India has purchased this system from Israel defence already and it is installed.
It is the only system currently designed for stratosphere interception and destroy and the latest version is termed in English the ARROW 2 and Hebrew the Hetz. And it is a true (TMD) Theatre Missile Defence system.
Others such as the Pac3 are for lower altitude interception and the RIM-161 is used for Outer Space interception.
