With eight days in jail he'll probably loose his job, which is counter productive. Community service, anger management and strict probation all could have got his attention and been helpful as well. He was forthcoming with the judge and it was only text messaging, not a physical encounter.

know why the controllers of society dont care to get homeless people off the street? Because homeless people are useful idiots that equal dollar signs to those who own private prisons and those same people that own private prisons rub shoulders with people that make laws and those same people that make laws hire judges (like this woman) who set impossible bails so said homeless person remains in the clink all the while extracting taxpayers cashola running the fiasco we call the 'justice system'

Anyone with a bit of insight could see that the 18yr old was struggling and has probably got mental health issues that need to be addressed through the proper channels..putting him in jail will only add to his health issues..should have released him into the custody of the grandparent who obviously cares for him but struggled to put his side of the case over to the judge ..hopefully things will resolve themselves and he will get the treatment that he needs.[just an opinion].

Alot of people in jail have very little self respect for themselves, others, as well as society--- as to the reason why they find themselves jail. statistics shows that law biding citizen have something like a run in with law enforcement once within 10 to 20 years.
Perhaps one day you will find yourself or relative getting sodomized by some scum bag in your society
