Iran's security forces have arrested six people in a connection with a blast at a religious center in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz.
"The main suspect who had a direct role in the bombing had been arrested armed in one of northern cities on Wednesday afternoon as he was trying to escape from the country," Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei told reporters.
The minister said that five other suspects had also been arrested and explosives and cyanide had been confiscated from them, adding that they are all Iranian nationals.
"The terrorist group has some links with the United States and Britain and Iran's foreign ministry had notified the countries about their terrorist operations," Ejei added.
He said that the terrorist group was planning to carry out similar attacks in other cities.
"Complete information will be given to Iranian people after the end of the investigations," the Intelligence Minister concluded.
A total of 11 people lost their lives and about 200 injured in the explosion which occurred in a religious center in the southern city of Shiraz on April 12.
Officials had earlier said the blast was an accident and ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack.
