Baba Yetu (beautiful african song)

I suggest listening to this every morning as soon as you wake up and open your windows, while sun lights up your room. :-D

Beautiful peace of art made for a pc game called Civilization IV

  • Somebody wakes me up in the morning with this and I will smash them in the face with my clock radio.

i used to have to wake art 4am to go to work. every morning the radio came on to 'comfortably numb' it was starting to get me down and lull me back to sleep because i kind of liked feeling comfortably numb instead of freezing just out of the shower.
i had to change the station to country music so that i would be inspired to jump out of bed to turn off the radio. this would have been tons better than toby keith.

    • @Americanalltheway - hint -- the video starts with a shot of the whole earth and ends with a shot of the whole earth.
mind you i don't suggest Africa hasn't got beautiful spots, but i do know one or two of those pics were not in Africa.

    • @Manbearpig2012 - it is a common mistake. Africa stretches below the equator as far as south America does... there is snow in many regions. also the top of the famous Kilimanjaro is capped in snow and ice and sits in Tanzania

    • @Americanalltheway - was only there for two weeks in Kenya... and a short trip over to Lake Tana i tho't it rather beautiful, and all the people were very friendly. i was a guest to a large family with many children- perhaps that had something to do with it. it was for the wedding of a local "prince".

  • Where I live I don't have to put on the radio to hear shit like this.

All I have to do is open the window and I can hear crap playing from every country in the world except my own.

  • ..wake up and open your windows...?? aahh the fantasy world must be a nice place to live...

...wake up and open your windows...??

assuming you live where it is warm enough in the morning to open a window,
or sunny, or safe- without voyeurs lurking on a nearby balcony or patio...
where the air isn't a blend of dumpster #5 and auto exhaust fumes or just quiet enough to hear over the morning rush hour traffic flow
if you can tolerate hearing music before your first cup of coffee or the first c More..

  • What has an African song to do with glaciers, oceans, and a background orchestra full of strings, French horn, etc.?
If a song is great, it should stand on its own.
Why does this song need all the Western packaging?

  • Been to Dijibouti, Dar El Salaam, Somalia, all verified shit holes, and this is being kind. The thing I will never forget from these places was the incredible stench which was present each and every day. The places within Africa I went to was not for a vacation or good will tour, hell they looked nothing like what this video showed, again a really focked up place

    • @Koranimal
not every place in the u.s. is detroit, not every place in africa is somalia.
and p.s. the scenes shown are not necessarily in africa at all but just beautiful scenery from around the world.
