I can believe that! They are really territorial and will announce the presence of anything strange.
There's a large colony of them no more than 1/2 mile down the bayou from me. I keep hoping that some will come here and nest here. I keep all sorts of food here for the wildlife, such as cracked corn for the ducks. But the peacocks must be really happy where they are cuz I've never once seen one come here.
