The sound of those wings, sounds like a huge bee on steroids to me... or maybe a distant WWII era fighter plane

One hit my window years ago.
Stunned itself.
Picked it up and put it on the ledge.
I came back later and it was gone.
Good vid, Thanks.

Incredible noise he was making, and surprising how you could catch it so easily. Aren't these birds flying like flies instead of like birds?

@khamomil They're actually surprisingly docile. With a feeder on your porch you can train them to land on your finger and hang out with you. He only snagged it because the bird allowed him to. If it was avoiding his hand, nobody has the ninja reflexes to grab a humming bird out of the air.
I would LOVE to have one. I don't like annoying loud parrots. A humming bird would just be an awesome pet.

@khamomil You should hear them at speed. They sound like tiny jet fighters and look like them too.

@ST0N3PONY I never saw any living in New York. Do they live only in the South?

@khamomil We have them in Vermont. They lick the nectar from flowers, so if you have flowering plants around, you might have the chance to see one.

Kudos to you.
We get birds in our shop all the time and Im
the one who winds up helping them get out.
If I didnt, Im afraid some of the other guys would eat them.
