Agreed. Seemed like a legitimate act of self-defense to me. Don't point a real looking pistol at people, and you won't get shot twice in the chest and once in the head. I feel sorry for the parents and the cops that fired.

  • With Columbine and Virginia Tech among others, I don't think the police should be prepared from anything other than the worst.

  • In the same situation if you point a gun at me I will fire first. Don't tell me you wouldn't !

  • You don't point a gun at police, even a pelet gun. They did what they thought was necessary, so stop whining.

    • @killerz3000 its a middle school, and the kid had to have some sort of issue. he was a drum major in the school band, he had been in a fight that same morning. id imagine cops would follow different protocol dealing with children. where are the rubber bullets? and wasnt there supposed to be some sort of communication with someone inside?

    • @NoQQ Apparently not. They went straight in before more backup could arrive. Kind of a mistake, but they probably did not want to risk losing any children lives by waiting. But instead they took one out. But what I am trying to say is that the cops probably did make some mistakes in there protocol. But a gun pointed at you gets the blood pumping, and adrenaline starts going, and your not thinking, "how do I not kill him". You are thinking "Oh shit, gun, FIRE!"

  • Kids need to know that police are NOT going to give them any slack because of their age. After the Colorado high school shootings everything should be done to stop a person in school threatening others with a weapon. I applaud the efforts of the police here. Congratulations police, you succesfully killed a bad guy and a dangerous individual. Now if you could have tazed him a few more times when you caught him scateboarding on the sidewalk maybe this wouldn't have happened. I had to throw that la More..

  • Let me see if I got this right. You want cops to take time to try and identify if a gun pointed at them is real or not? Fuck the little shit. And good job officers.

  • I have this radio app for my phone that is pretty cool. Called the police few weeks ago about some kids throwing rocks in my neigboorhood. Cop was wondering why there was an echo with his radio when he was talking to me..LOL He even thought it was cool. I heard the whole thing from dispatch to arrest..Took about 10 mins and the kids were in front my house both in the back seat and I laughed at the "hiding behind shed" when they found them. I'd have to be really bored or something ve More..

So I was tripping out and telling my girlfriend not to give them permission to enter if they knocked and I could actually he More..

  • If ANYONE aims ANY gun at ANY cop - then they are going to DEFEND themselves and probably shoot you. Is there anyone in this world who doesn't know that - surely not!

  • According to a news story:

The gun Gonzalez was carrying, a CO2.177-caliber pellet pistol, looked like a dangerous firearm, said Detective Jose Treviño, a police spokesman.

“It has the exact appearance of Glock,” Treviño said ... .

  • Why would you put a spin on it like that, if I'm even reading your misspellings correctly. No other reputable source says he knew it was a pellet gun. Millions of people will hate this man, his life will never be the same, all because he did what he was trained to do. I would have shot too. How could anyone not?

  • I'm sorry but 15 years old in this day and age isn't a kid anymore. I'm sure he played enough GTA4 to realise what would happen if he waved a gun at a cop, real or not. Even if the weapon was a fake it's something you just don't take chances on if you aren't 100 percent sure.
