  • Those guys have a lot of experience with drownings in Rio and the chopper is their best tool. A jet ski is good but depending on the location of the victims, the chopper is more efficient. Also, Rio itself has a shit ton of beaches, chopper can get to the victims faster.
    They use jetskiis too.

  • I haven't been around the ocean that much, so maybe I am missing something. But would not a sea-doo/jet ski make more sense for the lifeguards to have then to use a heli? First you have to warm up the helicopter then fly to the site, and then try to scoop the drowning victim up with a net. Also, it looked like the, "Life Guards", went in without a lifejacket, is that a good idea when your trying to rescue panic stricken drowning people?

Again, I don't know much about the ocean, but More..

  • I agree with you velocity, sell the chopper and you could buy far more efficient vessels for this kind of thing.

If a jet ski misses the victim on the first go, it won't take that long to make another pass and pick them up.
