Photos of 1997 Promise Keepers Rally in Washington DC passed off as 9/12 Project Rally

This picture

was found by some right-winger who thought it was a good idea to try and pass it off as the turnout to yesterdays 9-12 Project protest. They went and put some wording on it and is using it on various conservative websites.

As it turns out this picture was from the October 4, 1997 Promise Keepers rally in Washington, DC. Don't believe me? In the picture where circled

, something is missing. It is the National Museum of the American Indian which opened in 2004. Compare the aerial views of this pic and of Obama's inauguration and you'll see the differences. Still don't believe me?

I also have found a website in which it shows the picture the right wingers are using now of the 1997 event. http://throughtheveil.wordpress.com/2008/02/25/and-the-glory-of-the-lord/
