Cardinal Timothy Dolan exhorts Democrats to protect unborn life
After Democrats spent several days at their convention lauding abortion rights, Cardinal Timothy Dolan delivered the benediction, closing the convention with a call to protect the unborn: "Thus do we praise you for the gift of life. Grant us the courage to defend it, life without which no other rights are secure. We ask your benediction on those waiting to be born, that they may be welcomed and protected."

Plenty among the Democrats cannot have been happy. Dolan received virtually no applause.
Dolan also delivered a similar line when giving the benediction last week at the end of the Republican convention. Dolan received considerably more applause after that prayer.

@gammyland Not telling someone what to do with their uterus and the government providing birth control isn't doing your argument any favors. It does however point out the government is wise enough to leave it up to an individual what they do with their body and also provide a level of support if it's needed or seeked out.

The Government doesn't leave it up to the individual, that's the joke. Whether you want birth control our not you end up paying for it through taxes. That means the 65 year old woman well past her child bearing years is paying for someone elses' birth control. Or all the small to medium business owners where is there individual mandate? @cdlcrash The difference is that they want and don't want gov't to provide/tell them what to do. I'm a guy...why do I have to pay more in taxes so women have to have birth control pills.. ESPECIALLY when places like wallmart offer it for 9 bucks a month!!
