Red Bull Air Race Plane Crashes in the Swan River in Perth, Australia

Shocking video of the low altitude flying competition, including video taken on-board the plane - April 18, 2010

A practice round at the air race world championship took a scary turn last week when a Brazilian pilot lost control of his high-performance aerobatic plane and slammed it into a river in Australia.

Adilson Kindlemann, 36, a rookie competitor at the Red Bull Air Race, was pulled from the Swan River in Perth, Australia, by rescuers Thursday with minor injuries, including whiplash. He was treated at Royal Perth Hospital.

"I feel fine. I've had X-rays and medicals and fortunately I'm 100 percent," Kindlemann told reporters. "The people who rescued me from the water are unbelievable. The water (rescue) training we had on Monday really prepared me for this."
