  • This was very cool.
I wonder what was the result of this experiment? Did the lungs live or die? (No...I am not going to ask if they you-know-what)

    • Was wondering the same thing. I lost a friend that could have lived if he got a new lung. He was on the waiting lists for years.

    • I'm going to let you in on a secret SH and I';d appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone else. The videos I steal from other sites to post on LiveLeak usually come with a description that I steal along with it. Alas this one did not. So because we here at the Loose Cannon Channel strive to satisfy all our viewers (well at least some of them),I made some educated guesses about this video and did some research. So with a little research and a lot of luck, I found a couple of links to help answer yo More..

    • Thanks for those links, LC. I went and read them both. This is very interesting stuff, and will begin saving many more lives each year.
You always seem to come up with excellent material for your videos. This was definitely 'grade A'. Thanks for posting it.

  • Canadian medi-boffins have successfully trialled a method of keeping human lungs alive outside the body. They say that this will enable them to offer "reconditioned" lungs for transplant operations.

The idea is that often transplant docs have some lungs on hand, and people needing their present ones replaced, but the available lungs aren't in good enough nick to be used.

    • Thanks for the info. We do some pretty cutting edge research in Toronto. I wish everyone would sign their organ doner card. It's not like you're going to need them when you're worm food or cooking in a crematorium.

  • I don't like it. Stab it with a hot poker or something. Next it will be a brain in one lab, arms/legs in another, and a mouth in another, all linked together through the Internet... and the brain will make the arms/legs move and mouth talk.
