  • This is a triple repost.

    The "poor" man had just assaulted another person,was holding a knife and threatening officers.

    In the very last second of the video, which the poster didn't edit out, were two cops walking from behind the bushes in front of the grey Caprice cop car on the left side of the video.

    The knife wielding assailant was going right at those two officers when he was shot. He was only a few feet away from them when they opened fire.

  • Cops have been doing this kind of shit forever, it's just now that everyone has a cellphone camera, they are getting caught. The lesson here is, cops are fucking out of control do if they tell you to do something it's a good idea to comply. I really like how one asshole keeps shooting just to empty his gun.

  • I fully understand the situation that these cops are in, after all a stab to the throat is game over, yet, it's frightening how these scenes appear right out of NAZI Germany.

    He had a knife, they had Kevlar stab-proof vests, tasers and pepper spray.
    The police are supposed to use reasonable force to subdue a criminal, it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to work out that 46 shots is excessive and unreasonable.


    No human deserves instantaneous judge, jury and execution.

    • @safetychuck2 Forgive my ignorance, as here in the UK all cops are given stab-proof vests.
      Whilst the vests have little stopping power for guns, they will stop anything from a needle to a butchers knife.

      I don't understand why you were issued a bulletproof vest instead of a stab-vest.

    • @elitefox To be honest, this was in the early 90's when I worked as a guard, and I never knew a stab-proof vest even existed. I went and read about them and it notes that they are widely used in the UK. Maybe they weren't available then. The only time we used the vests were during forced cell extractions, or activities involving the riot team. Would have been nice to have them...saw plenty of knives in inmates hands, but only two guns.

      Many people don't realize that cops don't have to act like John Wayne.

      Getting within 21-30 feet from a man with a knife puts you in immediate danger. Most cops or other people cannot fire a single aimed shot at an attack begun within that distance.

      Also most people don't stop trying to kill you with one shot. Out of the thousands of people killed here every year most are not immediately incapacitated by a single shot, assuming you can hit him.
