Afterburner with Bill Whittle: Han Shot First! (I love this one) Please watch it all to the end!

Didn't Han Solo shoot first in the famous Cantina scene? It depends on which versions of "Star Wars" you have seen. Bill Whittle jumps head first into this "Star Wars" controversy and asks whether George Lucas's re-edited version of the sci-fi classic tells us something about Hollywood, manhood and American culture.

  • He's pissed off that white men have been emasculated into equality with the rest of the society. Han Solo (and the people he looks like and represents) are no longer the de facto heroes that ride off into the sunset after having saved the day. This is a general complaint that like he says goes into many sectors of modern day society, from politics, to economics, to social issues. White men are no longer the sole powers and it pisses them off that it's like that now. So we have to "take our More..

  • I'm more pissed off that they changed the ending music at the end of Jedi. And put in Hayden what's his face as Vader. That shit pissed me right on off!

Good for you dude! Lucas has enough of our money I'm right with you. I haven't paid any money to see any of the remakes. Saw them all in the theaters too. Was treated to the first one by my dad, the second two I had gift certificates that I received as gifts. So technically speaking yeah Lucas hasn't got a dime off me since about '93 which was about the last time I rented one of his movies. I"m proud of that too lol

  • Han shot first because he's a badass pirate.

I don't know what you mean. I am a white guy, and I don't feel emasculated in the least.

Heroes in my mind have always been the person who does what has to be done in order to protect him, his brothers and his family. It isn't about color or race or religion it is about right and wrong.

There have been many from: The Tuskegee airmen to these congressional medal of honor recipients: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African-American_Medal_of_Honor_recipients

    then there are the More..

  • Yeah the good old Cantina scene.

Give it 30 more years. We'll wish the worst of the white mans problems was a re-edit of Han Solo's most badass scene.

  • I never seen the remake. Han Solo will always shoot first.

  • I'm surprised Stephen Speilberg hasn't changed that scene where Indiana Jones shoots the swordman by digitaly replacing the sword with a spinning machine gun that spews copius amounts of lead, all of it managing to miss Indiana Jones. You know, maybe I should keep my mouth shut. Gonna jinx it.

  • This is retarded, Han had a gun pointing at him, so Han was justified

  • The Star Wars bar scene is the precursor to the Obama administration.
