DHS Signs Contract for 450 Million Rounds of Ammo

The U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) just awarded a contract to ATK for 450,000,000 rounds of .40 ammunition. This 1-year contract may be renewed during the following 4 years for additional amounts as necessary. The contract was handled by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agency.

DHS has also placed a bid out for 175,000,000 rounds of .223 rifle ammunition, requiring a 'quick bid' response by April 12, 2012. (Final bid posting was March 21, 2012)

Seems like someone in the Federal Government is quickly preparing for a domestic war.
