@mrcat T-80 was never exported from Soviet union, it looks similiar but you can see the driver view port on the hull t-72 have one and t-80 have it divided to three.
Also you can hear the diesel engine
t-80 have a turbine with high fuel consuption so probably for economic reasons soviets favored more cheaper t-72

Yes, I was wrong on that Syria had T-80s, they only got T-72. They might have gotten downgraded ones which would be logical, however I have read on RussiaToday, some Russian tank portal and seen in an interview loaded up on Youtube that they intend to upgrade their T-72s with the M1M package, which consists of updated electronic systems and newer reactive armor as well as a temporary solution for the problem with their sideskirts that fall off all the time.
