@TomThumb It would have looked like garbage... Tremors was really the last great 80's movie (despite being released in 1990 or 1991). There was a window, a period of time there, where effects were becoming more realistic, but CGI was still mostly non-existent.
Costumes and props and makeup and puppets and models still look better than CGI. The last Star Trek movie is a good example. JJ Abrams used mostly sets, and models and miniatures. etc. And it all looked better and more real than any of th More..

in the commercial Breaks around 91 there was a commercial with the brand new 486 CPU from Intel for 4000 DM / 2000 $ LOL
