Santiago, Chile. April 31. This footage shows the very instant when a young anarchist is reached by the explosive artifact that he had installed moments before in a Santander's bank branch located in Vicuña McKenna Ave, Santiago.
According to data provided by the criminal investigation department, the man was installing an explosive device consisting of a fire extinguisher loaded with black powder with a mechanical firing system, that was activated while the young still was manipulating the device.
This guy of 22 years old, is now serious in Indisa clinic, with a real risk of losing both arms. Because of the strong explosion, the injured man suffered amputation of both hands, bone injuries, burns in different parts of the body and eye damage.
The lost of his sight has already been confirmed.
At the moment of the accident, his artifact exploded too close of himself. His both hands merged with his backpack holders while he was blind by the injuries on his eyes. After that, his clothes caught fire, causing severe burns in the young man and raising the injuries.
Minority anarchist groups in Chile often make this kind of attacks on places like banks at the mid a.m., with the aim of causing some damage to the infrastructures, because they think that is the way of protesting against the state.
