Honda Unveils the New VFR1200 Motorcycle for 2010
Honda's finally unveiled some info on its new 2010 VFR1200 sport tourer. And while it's a striking design, with some interesting new technology, it's missing some of the features talked up in pre-launch media hype.

More..ank, which houses the two outer cylinders. This allows the rider to sit further forward, straddling the back of the engine with their knees. The motor itself is a 1,237cc 76° V-four design, with 12:1 compression ratio, 16 valves, and three cams. The rear head uses a space-saving SOHC design borrowed from the firm's offroad machinery. Final drive is by shaft, with six gears and a slipper clutch.
There's no sign yet though of the much-heralded dual-clutch gearbox system, nor a 'variable capacity' setup where some cylinders are 'switched off' to save fuel while cruising. Some observers say these systems will appear on more expensive versions of the VFR1200 which may appear next year.

They categorize the VFR series as a sport tourer, with emphasis on sport. If you want pure sport, then go for the CBR series.
I have had 3 VFRs in the last 20 years, and use them for commuter vehicles. Perfect for the daily grind through LA traffic because they are maneuverable and won't break your back.

Shaft jacking was an old problem, especially with the BMWs. Not with new bikes like the Hondas.
