This is culture. It's traditional (and incredibly brave) for these men in Vanuatu.

@nessiedog I have taught kids from Fiji. They have much more respect for elders than spoilt Australian kids. In fact, one family decided to move back to Fiji for a year or two because our western kids had no idea or appreciation of real work is. They wanted their children to have the benefit of seeing hard work and a close knit community.
