wow a wild animal knowing that human is trying to help him and lets them try to do so....only supports the fact dolphins are damn smart and humans shouldnt kill them because they feel they are stealing fish from them..aka the Japs.

This dolphin simply noted that these humans were passive observers, rather than aggressors, and took action to get them to attempt to assist in a matter that it was incapable of solving itself.
Very, very intelligent animals. One day, this dolphin might assist another human in return for this favour.
I guess it's like bartering or something.
