BOXFORD, Mass.- Some uninvited guests crashed a party in Boxford and police had quite the time chasing after them.

Talk about being a party animal. Cows on the loose in Boxford bellied up to the bar for a few beers in a backyard.

“They enjoyed it. There’s no doubt about it. They went right for the beer and then when one was done, they’d knock another one over and take care of that beer,” said Lt. James Riter, Boxford Police Department.

Boxford Police say they heard screams and then a group of women took off when about five or six bovines crashed their backyard party. The thirsty cows eagerly helped themselves to the beers left behind.

“They got up as the cows went towards the table. They stepped back and the cows took over the table, knocking over the beers with their noses drinking the beer off the table. They went to the recycling bin to find any leftovers,” Lt. Riter said.
