    • @m-lom well i got the same opinion , instead of welfare conscript them in to the army corps of engineers and build roads and bridges and stuff ,they are being paid by the gov anyway ,and isnt that how they did it in the first place ( all except the conscription part )

    I read the accounts of what being in the army under Saddam was like. The guy who wrote the account (and who finally just fled the country) kept deserting, because most of the training consisted of beatings. This is the truth. Also under Saddam, if you deserted from the army and got caught, he'd have one or both of your ears CUT OFF. A warning to others and More..

      you know that under the US military justice system, the maximum punishment is death. its not likely and it hasnt happened in a long time but IF YOU DESERT THE US MILITARY YOU COULD BE HANGED. in which case having an ear or two removed would be a lighter sentence, relatively speaking.

      also i bet a russian soldier would consider iraqi boot camp to be a walk in the park!
