Every year in America thousands of workers are injured in work related incidences. The workers compensation system claims it takes care of these injured workers. However, this is not the case, and the facts are alarming! Workers die, leaving their loved ones to maintain the standard of living they had grown accustomed to. After meeting the request of the current workers compensation system they are left broken and penniless. They are only entitled the $2,500 for burial costs of their loved one, average burial costs are over $5,000. The checks they receive for their dead spouse is at best an insult. They only receive 50% of the workers weekly check for 2 years. If the employee made a minimum wage, that would only be $12,000. If the spouse was a dependent they are probably deemed unemployable by today’s employment standards. An injured employee is required to pay for their own attorney fees, or obtain an attorney that works for the corrupt workers compensation system itself, these are called “ombudsman”. The injured worker receives only 75% of the wage they received pre-injury and yes, attorney’s fees come out of this check that the system calls “workers compensation”. Here is one example: If an employee makes a minimum wage his or her check will be $116.00 a week, that is $464.00 a month or $6,043 dollars a year, if the worker is deemed unable to work at that time. This is barely enough money to even feed oneself for a week. What about shelter, gas for the vehicle and motor vehicle insurance, the damn electric bill, water bill, ext… ext. ? How is an injured person suppose to live? The workers that have permanent disabilities end up homeless, sick, beggared, and even more so when the paychecks stop coming in… this takes generally 18 to 24 months. At this rate the employee has lost his home, clothing, transportation, money saved if any, his or her health, and in most cases his or her will and desire to live. He or she by this time has jumped from homeless shelter to homeless shelter, town to town, city to city, or in some cases live with reluctant relatives, or possibly a friend if they are fortunate enough to have relatives or friends that will open their home to the injured worker. The system expects the injured worker to conform to their rules, take drugs that can affect them psychologically and effect their mobility, attend doctors visits most of the time… miles away, visit their treating doctor, provide for their own transportation and wait three weeks to for a reimbursement for transportation costs, this eats up most of their weekly living expenses, they demand that they have surgeries that may actually make their conditions worse, in some cases this has resulted in the death of the injured worker, paralysis, and sever disorders. If this is the case and in thousands of cases it is; the before injured worker under the current worker’s compensation system cannot sue the doctor that caused further damages. No attorney can sue the system and no employer can hire a worker that has been injured and has received workers compensation for fear of future liabilities… THIS IS BY NO MEANS COMPENSATION FOR AN INJURED WORKER OR THE DEAD WORKERS FAMILY….THIS IS CORRUPTION AND MURDER AT THE HIGHEST LEAVES OF GOVERNANCE! THIS TYPE OF SYSTEM SHOULD BE DESTROYED OR OVER TURNED IMMEDIATELY!
