Geoffrey Arnold "Jeff" Beck (born 24 June 1944) is an English rock guitarist. He is one of three noted guitarists to have played with The Yardbirds (Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page are the other two). Beck also formed The Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice.
He was ranked 5th in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and the magazine has described him as "one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock". MSNBC has called him a "guitarist's guitarist". Beck has earned wide critical praise and received the Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance six times and Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance once. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as a member of The Yardbirds (1992) and as a solo artist (2009).
Jennifer Batten (born November 29, 1957), born in Upstate New York, Batten got her first electric guitar at the age of eight before her family relocated to San Diego, California, a year later. In 1979. Batten's big career break came in 1987, as she toured with Micheal Jackson for the better part of a year-and-a-half. This set the stage perfectly for her full-length solo debut in the spring of 1992, Above Below and Beyond, an album that mixed originals and covers (and was produced by Michael Sembello). Shortly after the release of her length solo debut in the spring of 1992, Above Below and Beyond , Batten found herself out on tour once more with Jackson, in support of his Dangerous release. Afterwards, Batten returned to her own recording career, forming a group called the Immigrants and issuing the European-only release, One Planet Under One Groove, before once more agreeing to tour with Jackson, this time in support of his 1997 greatest-hits collection, HIStory. The same year also saw the release of another Batten recording, Momentum, (credited to Jennifer Batten's Tribal Rage). 1998 saw Batten receive an invitation to join the backing band of one of her all time-favorite guitarists, Jeff Beck. Since signing on with Beck, Batten has appeared on such studio recordings as 1999's Who Else! and 2001's You Had It Coming, plus numerous tours.
Randy Hope-Taylor is a powerhouse of groove, best-known for his work with acid jazz pioneers Incognito throughout the 90s. His playing on Inside Life, Tribes and Vibes, 100 Degrees and Rising and Beneath the Surface cemented his position as one of the hardest-grooving bassists in the UK and beyond.
Randy has also toured the world four times with guitar god Jeff Beck, and played on Jeff's Who Else and You Had it Coming albums.
Randy's impressive list of credits includes Jamiroquai, D'Angelo, Chaka Khan, Al Green, Terence Trent D'Arby, Mica Paris, Jonathan Butler, Phillip Bailey, Brian Kennedy, Damage, R. Kelly, Urban Species, Viva Cabaret (TV series w/ Kid Creole, Marc Almond, Jools Holland), Mica Paris, Jazz Explosion (Ronnie Laws, Paulino da Costa, Keni Burke, Leon Ware), Jocelyn Brown, Heaven 17, Five Star, A-ha, Matt Bianco, Womack and Womack, Mavis Staples and the Jonathan Ross House Band.
Steve Alexander (born 20 November 1962) is a Welsh drummer. Starting out with the Irish band Shook Up!, he earned a living as a session drummer, working regularly in London's recording studios on film, TV and commercial sessions and playing with the BBC Radio Orchestra. He became a permanent member of Brother Beyond following the departure of Eg White in in 1986.
In 1995 Steve was hired by Duran Duran and continued to work with them for 6 years following the departure of their previous drummers Roger Taylor, Steve Ferrone, Terry Bozzio and Vinnie Colaiuta. During these years he contributed to the Thank You, Medazzaland and Pop Trash albums, also working with Melle Mel and Grandmaster Flash on the track "White Lines" which led to live work with these founders of rap.
Steve resumed his freelance career, working with a wide range of artists from Jeff Lorber, Warren Cuccurullo, Boy George and recording the award winning Voyegeur album with Zaire's Papa Wemba. In 1998 Steve started working with Jeff Beck, recording the Who Else album and toured for 18 months in the USA, Japan, South America and Europe. He also continued recording for his solo Flashman projects. As of June 2011, Alexander currently plays with The Fabulous Lampshades, who regularly perform charity gigs in London in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
