  • I'll bet that policeman who was "given a second chance" was murdered shortly after the journalists left.

    • @wattage2000 Probably not. Changing sides is very common in Afghanistan wars. Always has been. That's why there'seldom any clear-cut victory in any war in their history - allow them to change sides, your enemy evaporates.

    • @SharkGuy Patton was fighting a conventional army and war. Completely different type of war going on here, he'd be hard pressed to do well even in Vietnam.

  • This is a fucking endless war. Do we have to kill every male in the entire country Afghanistan?
    It's another Vietnam.

  • How can this war stop this way...
Well it should not stop and it was known before they went there.
    Iraq isn't better either.

What did they think would happen in a mountainous region with little remote villages everywhere, unstable borders (to Pakistan f.e. ),civilians that take the weapon in their hands to fight for some religion and ideology then put it down and are again just civilians.
As long it lasts, someone is making money..

  • It's good to hear them say that the Afghan army is becoming effective against them.

  • because killing/threatening someone's family is going to make it less likely to make them want to kill you less and make them less determined.
