Are they really good enough? If so, no problem. The first one in the US Navy wasn't. She scored lower than several men who washed out of flight school but she was given a free pass. First rattle out of the box she crashed while trying to land on a carrier killing herself and more importantly destroying an expensive aircraft. Of course it was somebody else's fault - not.
Do the male pilots also get flowers? Wouldn't surprise me if some do in the US Mil. since Obama changed the policy.
