Happened Friday Sept.21- A major fire at a grocery store behind our house. This footage was shot just prior to the arrival of emergency personnel & about a 1/2hr after the store closed. This & another building were totally destroyed; the rear exterior wall collapsed on a gas main & the entire block was forced to to evacuate for the night. Local developers were likely lined up at city hall before the fire was out. In the last 3-4 years East Vancouver has seen plenty of large total-loss fire resulting in new condo construction. East Van Development Plan strikes again!
