still think people who break down in overtaking lane need a punishment. There is no way you car stops that quickly for you not to have time to pull over.
Unless a fire, wheel falls off etc its no acceptable. Thats my view (I maybe wrong)

one simple solution to this problem would be to attach computers and detonators to every vehicle. while crashing, the person's car at fault would explode immediately hence preventing further damage for the rest of the world.
2 years later, the detonators will go off when the probabilty of a crash exceeds 80% (after 5 warning beeps)

First, the rider's left leg probably got nailed in the collision. His head bounced off the pavement about mid-road while he was upside-down midair. Hopefully the helmet did its job. He rolled brutally to the shoulder and was then hit by the bike.
That was a bad one. He drove foolishly, of course, but a death sentence would be a bit much. Hope he makes it.

You're jumping to conclusions, he didn't try to pass them, that car he hit was braking suddenly because it had come across the the stalled vehicles, he just couldn't react in time to avoid hitting the car.
The last thing you expect on a motorway is stopped vehicles in the main lanes, as is evidenced by the amount of videos online involving these kind of accidents.
