The good news about the "plague" is that the overbreeding human herd will be thinned. After the other "plague" thinned out the overbreeding human herd in Europe, the people in Europe enjoyed a historical period of peace and prosperity. Those left had more "grub" to choose from on the grocery shelves of their day. Also, there was much more room to have gardens and vinyards :).
