With the high wing loading it's no fighter. This thing will be decimated by modern 4th generation fighters. It depends on a very small BVR defensive armament close in it's meat on the table.

@markymark69 "they even see it" was a good selling point. Not reality tho´.

@markymark69 Beyond visual range combat is still somewhat of a myth. In actual combat situations the rules of engagement still usually require visual identification of targets. That's how it was with the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

@EMAG-K
Did the F35 hurt your feelings or you just normally decide to go on random crusades against inanimate objects?
Links to Soviet propaganda essays aren't really "proof" either...

Interesting how the elevons are angled so steeply downward when it does those short takeoffs. Guess it has something to do with it being fly by wire instead of having a natural balance.

@Intellectual Do you have a clue what fly by wire means?

@Intellectual It has to do with keeping the air mass from the vectored thrust under the aircraft at a higher pressure then above the aircraft, thus producing lift.

After almost a decade they are going to finally be used. I was starting to wonder if we built them just to see if we could, or actually use them.
