Islam is an easy target, for this type of pseudo "intellectuals".
C'mon Pat...you can do something better..your scripts are fine, but you need to stop kissing asses, just for a little bit of public love.

I am not a Muslim, I dont particularly like Islam. But Pat, all the Muslims want is a right to reply! Or u think they dont have a right to freespeech because of their religion. Come on, your making yourself look like a facist!

I am somewhat new to LL. Therefore, I am not aware of the history behind Pat.
However he is commenting about a legitimate concern over limitations of free speech, libel-chill, and harassment via legal or tribunal actions that have the effect of limiting discourse in Canada. If you are a contrarian (as I am) or consider yourself a liberal (as I do on most issues) then you can reference Salon.com for very well reasoned accounts of these concerns from a liberal viewpoint.
I am not concurring with each nitty-gritty detail of this rather lengthy post...rather I think the current affairs issue he talks about, as presently occurring in Canada, is a legitimate one to discuss.

Hey Pat, right on with this one. I am Canadian, I live in Canada, I know the article you speak of, and I have the book that initiated this.
This is typical in Canada right now, the land of failed multiculturalism. I just wish, how I wish, how someone in a position of authority would stand up and call this what it is, CRAP! I bet that most regular rank and file Muslims here either don't know about this issue or don't really care!

Just browsing at the article, I disagree with you on this one Pat.

They are seeking the right to have a rebuttal against the article, which, from this quote, sound ridiculously paranoid.
The right to free speech is an interesting debate, the Canadian Islamic Congress have not asked for the article to be banned etc, merely the right to respond to it.
If you believe in universal free speech no matter what, then what is to stop a newspaper publishing continual lies to the population?

u know the more i listen to this bozo the more i am convinced he just wants something to complain about and he cant just complain it to his wife he has to tell everyone to gather support for his cause. It's very clear that he is anti-islam and always talks negatively about it. You are a bitter man, its undeniable. You have a burning hate for muslims and although im not muslim myself, i would understand why muslims would get offended at that article because it makes the Canadian folks like myself think bad about the muslims over here. When in reality they are great people, no one has ever met a muslim terrorist in Canada before, yet we cant let a day go by without seeing dozens of them walking amongst us. Its common sense, if an american or whoever goes to live abroad and there are articles inciting hate on them in the country they now live in, i think the american would also be pissed and raise an eyebrow... Free speach should not offend no one or increase the chances of their being hate crimes, which pat, i know is your goal, you want the world to hate muslims like you do. Ill let it go by asking Pat to get a life, stop whining and that I CAN GUARANTEE YOU ARE NOT SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF CANADIAN PEOPLE. You are a hate mongering lamer!
