Yesterday these parents of a murder victim found out the four killers of their son will have to be re-tried because the judge was high on pain killers the whole time. They are taking the news much better than I would.

The four gang members convicted of having raped, tortured, and murdered Channon Christian and her fiance, Christopher Newsom, in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2007 have had their convictions thrown out because of serious misconduct by the presiding judge, Richard Baumgartner. The murders were probably the most heinous crimes committed in the area in recent memory and have been the focus of racial tensions over the question of whether the murders constituted a hate crime.
