Jack russell tears at cop's pant leg during arrest of female suspect
A Burnaby Mountie got a taste of a postman's life when he was attacked by a Jack Russell Terrier mid-arrest on Thursday July 1st.
Footage shows him calmly completing the arrest of a female suspect even as her angry Terrier tears at his pant leg, which it had already ripped off up to the plain clothes officer's knee.
The officer was responding to a call of shots fired in the area of Byrne Road and Lowland Drive.
2 suspects, a man and a woman, were stopped in a car and arrested.
A rifle was seized and the man is facing firearms charges.
The dog was brought to the Burnaby police station and later reunited with its owners, according to police.
Both suspects were released but the male is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges.

Being an American I hate to say this but you have it backwards a bit. It is not so much our cops, but it is the Americans who is becoming more blood thirsty. I believe much more than Canadians. America cops are just having to deal with not only the increasingly blood thirsty Americans but the liberals who put a thumb on them... just as they do our military.

Check out the vid were they shot a tied up dog first in the body, not even when shot does it get aggresive... And then in the head.

It's not the size of the dog.. My little Lab owns two rotties, they do as they are told and all is well. Of course they could tear her apart, but she's their leader.. They'd die to protect her.

That was some of the best tactics at a high risk stop I've seen in a while. Nice job on the horsemen!!
I'm not surprised the dog wasn't shot. It wasn't big enough to cause much injury and wasn't too distracting. Even if the officer felt the dog was too much of a distraction, they had enough cover officers for him to back off and deal with the little scamp.

Bravo Canada, I wish the police over here would take a lesson and be more compassionate.
My question isn't a dog bite part of the job? I know if a vet or vet technician get bitten by a dog they don't put it down because its part of their risk.
The officers say that their lives are in jeopardy, but I'm curious how many policeman have been killed by dogs over the years. They may get bit in the leg but there is a thing called vaccinations.
