Considering the circumstances, the landing and evac. seem to have gone pretty smoothly.

Japanese always follow the rules to the tee. If it were any other culture they would be pushing shoving and yelling at eacherother.

What do you think is parked in front of the plane in the final shot? Very nice camera work, especially if it is a cell phone. Kudos to the photog.

Pilot sounded a little stressed. Probably just tired, and looking forward to a beer after all the incident paperwork he would have to fill out
Good job

I would imagine that the Captain, FO, and SO are stressed as they know the shitstorm that is just beginning for them.

Aren't you supposed to turn off all electronic devices during a landing?

A bus would have been nice. Looks like a long walk back to the terminal.

A not particularly similar problem happened with the now defunct Ansett Airlines in Australia.
They had a 747 nosewheel failure to deploy and didn't notice it, so they landed just the same way - scraping the nose along the runway. In that case they pleaded it was a new aircraft and they weren't fully experienced on it, and it was the first(ish) flight for the airline.
