It's tough for us Westerners cuz dogs/cats are domesticated and not seen as livestock...In India hardly anyone eats beef cuz cows are sacred there...Imagine how they feel watching a slaughterhouse video???

@xyzzjp I'm from where the vidoes states and yes dogs are on the menu as a delicacy. From what I can remember as a child we had like 3 dogs, and each on of them ended up on the dinner table. I remember having some but the meat was strong so I never wanted to try it anymore...so yeah, to us it's just like pork and beef. Some of you may have tried the korean pork bone soup, you should try dog bone soup...

@toastt21a I once watched a slaughterhouse video and it was the most horrifying thing I had ever seen. I almost cried. I am vegetarian by birth and everybody in my family are. And most of the people here are vegetarians. I cant understand one thing - you guys show sympathy and compassion for cats and dogs and why you dont feel anything while eating your beef? i will repeat. eating a predator is extremely dangerous. it more than likely had a sick or diseased animal for it's last meal.

Let's just say we all agree with you. How are they stunned before slaughter? answer is they Are not. They are often skinned alive screaming in agony. I don't know how many dogs and cats we euthanize in this country every day but I bet it's a shitload. At least these people put the meat to use. We just kill them and throw them away. If we had any sense, we'd ship ours over to them alive and cut the bill we owe them.

I dont see any worse treatment here than in alot of other parts in the world. I think it just seems weird to us westeners because thats not what we are used to eating and we usually have a social relationship with cats and dogs. I think similar relationships can be had with most animals, though, yet we eat them. If you think eating cats and dogs is sick that might be something worth thinking about.

I don't buy the argument where an animal is an animal whether cow,pig,goat,camel and etc. A domesticated animal where the animal feels part of the family should not be eaten period. We humans, should have very similar values and cultures, we're not fcvinkng aliens or live 10,000 years ago. We shoud have the guts to say this is wrong and this is right, now if you tell me animals should not be eaten at all, then that's a different topic.
