Kiwi Soldiers farewell their fallen comrades with a huge Haka

2nd/1st farewell their fallen comrades

(Turn Volume Up to max. That's not even half the sound of the Haka)

Medic Lance Corporal Jacinda Baker, 26 of Christchurch, Corporal Luke Tamatea, 31, of Kawerau, and Richard Harris, 21, of Pukekohe died 19th August helping a fellow soldier when their humvee was hit by a roadside bomb in Bamiyan province. Their vehicle was the last in a convoy taking one of their patrol members to Romero base to see a doctor.

  • When I was in the military the Kiwi's had such a dance to apologise for a fight on our joint compound. The tradition is very impressive.

For the fallen, the world thanks you for your service, may you rest in peace. All the strenght to the families......

  • A long salute to the warriors! Rest in Peace! Great people, great culture! Absolutely beautiful! By the looks of it, I think he was a sniper. Excuse me, I have something in my eye!

  • They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
    We will remember them.

    RIP Lads

  • Cool tradition. ANZAC forces fought against Turks in WW1 in Gallipoli, they rest in peace in now friendly territory. Truly brave soldiers, Rest In Peace soldier.

  • RIP to these two young soldiers.

When my wife and I visited NZ last summer we were on the road somewhere on the North Island and happened upon the Armed Forces Museum and stopped for a few hours. The museum gave me a lot of insight into NZ's military history and the proud tradition of its soldiers.

  • RIP fallen soldiers. The Haka is preformed throughout Polynesia amongst Polynesians. The Maori tradition of doing so is a sign of respect , especially towards the warriors and fallen. Its an honor to see the Soldiers of these fallen, Moari and Non Moari alike honoring their fallen commrades and continuing a tradition. New Zealand, Samoa, and here in Hawaii, the Haka is continued for occassions such as this to honor and respect. Thank you for sharing. The ultimate sacrifice, not glorifying an inv More..

    • @Koranimal

Too bad they die for a war that achieves what exactly?

    • @AxisofEvil Unfortunately these soldiers and others like them have died for their countries call to attempt to bring stability to this region. Attmpting to bring these koranimal fucks up to speed with living with civility. This is not a political statement, rather honoring fallen soldiers. I as others have, have answered the call when ones country calls, devoid of saying should I go or not. Personally, I could give a shit less if these Koranimal focks kill themselves off, men women or children. More..

    • @Koranimal Nationalistic mumbo jumbo is nearly as bad as religious mumbo jumbo

    • @KaboomBaby nationalistic mumbo jumbo? why because soldiers, who have chosen to serve their country, die? Again not a political statement from my explaination. Regardless if the action(s) are politically correct or not these men and others like them have given their lives for their countries. The kicker is unfortunately, people like the Koranimals could give a shit less if some attempts to help them or even give their lives in doing so.
