I think they might be carpet snakes. (Item modified from reading first comments). Behavioral lesson: fighting is entwining entire length of body, as males aggressively maneuver to push the others head down; mating snakes entwine just the lower length of their body to keep their copulatory organs together, while the rest of the length of their body is pretty free.
