for all of you guys saying the cop was driving too fast, the road was wide open, had minimal traffic, and the light was green. as for the accident, not only did the pickup truck fail to yield, but it also swerved into the officer's lane of travel.

@runescape1 actually it was red but turned green just as she got there. either way they are suppose to slow down a little bit at an intersection to avoid something like this. however the driver of the truck failed because 1) they failed to pay attention to where the sirens were coming from 2) they basically ran a red light because the officers light turned green right as the truck was turning and 3)they for whatever reason started turning towards the cop car

@rivrev65 Well first of all, that pickup truck driver should have yielded at the intersection because of the sirens, and second, he should not have swerved into the cop's lane.you just sound like a typical cop hater finding every little reason to bash.

@defkev actually she didn't hit the breaks when she lost control that squeal is from her car drifting sideways. she actually reacted by turning the wheel too sharp then over correcting herself. thus cause the car to lose control. i do imagine her oh shit factor had sky rocketed and instinctively hit the breaks after losing control

This just underscores how dangerous some jobs are. This includes police, ambulance, and fire trucks, who occasionally must drive at high speed. Don't know what the call was,, but maybe he was racing to save a child who was going to be killed,, who knows.
Either way, if it was you waiting for help in an emergency, you would want a quick response also.
He would have been okay, but the driver made a final sudden left hand movement and the cop made a slight, but quick swerve. Actually I can't belie More..
